CERNOS IHMS
Infrastructure Health Monitoring System
Detect infrastructure movement sooner
Movement, shift or subsidence in marine infrastructure can develop between scheduled inspections. Without continuous monitoring, potentially important changes may not be identified until visible damage occurs or the next inspection is completed.
CERNOS IHMS provides autonomous, real-time monitoring of marine infrastructure and alerts relevant stakeholders when client-defined movement thresholds are breached.

How CERNOS IHMS works
Subsurface tilt sensors measure and resolve the Earth’s gravity into a vector, producing highly precise inclination readings with resolution down to a thousandth of a degree at up to 100Hz sampling rate.
CERNOS continuously monitors these readings against thresholds established by the port’s asset management team. When a threshold is breached, nominated stakeholders receive email and SMS alerts, enabling the change to be assessed promptly.
CERNOS uses open data protocols, allowing monitoring information to be integrated with existing assetmanagement or infrastructure-monitoring software. This helps ports maintain a single source of information rather than adding another isolated system.
What CERNOS IHMS does
CERNOS IHMS can be configured to monitor:
-
Berth and wharf foundations
-
Piles and piers
-
Jetties and terminals
-
Dolphins and other mooring structures
-
Seawalls and retaining structures
-
Other critical marine and waterfront assets
CERNOS IHMS helps asset managers and engineers:
-
Detect movement, shift or subsidence as it occurs
-
Monitor gradual change and longer-term trends
-
Establish site-specific alert thresholds
-
Direct inspections and investigations more effectively
-
Build a continuous record of asset behaviour
-
Support condition assessment and maintenance planning
-
Reduce reliance on isolated, point-in-time observations
Built for demanding industries
Ports and maritime operations
Coastal infrastructure and utilities
Offshore energy support
Remote construction projects
Mining and industrial sites
